Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) Data for Analysis

We need to extract data from a source file.  This can be a file such as Excel, CSV, SQL, or other file types.  Excel is great for data transformation, however a business intelligence program such as Power Bi is great for further transformations, and visuals.  When data has been fully manipulated, it is loaded, with full analysis to take place.

Use of Formulas to isolate areas of importance in Data

The use of Formulas is a fantastic way to isolate a particular part of the data.  Unrequired data can be removed, or set aside.

Use of visuals to illustrate graphically the data, so easier to understand and visualise the distribution

Visualization is very exciting, and can represent visually data in a condensed and easy to understand format.

Analysing and Data Cleaning

Clean Data is paramount to ensuring your data is ready for uploading, and further broken down to create visually attraction presentations for analyzing.  There are many aspects to data cleaning, and each one such be exhausted before even attempting to break down the data sets into sub columns

Use of advanced tools such as DAX to provide a more indepth insight into your data

The use of DAX is an excellent way to use formulas to single out area of interest, and manipulation.

Report writing to explain the data

Explaining the analysis to the lay person is an excellent way of interpreting the findings in a logical, easy to understand format.

Reporting and Data Modelling

Reporting and Data Modeling includes the graphs, charts etc (reporting), and the links between different tables and columns within a data set, or data base (Modeling)

Recognise Trends and Forecasting of Data Sets

Why is recognizing trends and forecasting data important?  Recognizing trends is useful when establishing a correlation ( or not ) between the specific categories, columns etc.  when trends are established, we can further investigate numerically, or non-numerically the parameters to assist us in our analysis of the data.  Forecasting will use past events to predict future events, based on the past events.
